Berkeley’s writings are among the clearest in the entire philosophical corpus; and despite the seeming “outrageousness” of some of his ideas, his perspective is a very challenging one for anyone seriously studying by: George Berkeley's early 18th century treatise "Of the Principles of Human Knowledge" was written in response to the current popular philosophical leanings of Locke, Descartes, Hobbes, Malebranche, and others.
